Licensing & Purchasing
After completing your purchase you will receive a confirmation email. Access to the full AirTrack system is then arranged privately with download instructions and your license file.
Licensed users are provided access via a secure download link along with any required installation guidance. Your license file is included and activates the correct edition automatically on first run.
No. AirTrack is a one-time purchase. Your license applies to the edition you select and does not expire. Updates are included.
Each license allows up to two active installations — for example, a home desktop and a field laptop. If you need more, contact us.
Installation & Setup
AirTrack runs inside Docker. Once you have Docker installed on your machine, download the AirTrack package, place your license file in the config folder, and run
docker compose up. Full instructions are included with your download.No. AirTrack is fully offline-capable. Internet access is only needed for the initial setup, optional Flightradar24 links, and automatic updates — all of which are optional.
AirTrack runs on Windows (via Docker Desktop), Ubuntu Linux, and Raspberry Pi. Because it runs in Docker, the same installation works the same way on all three.
The
.env file lives in the main AirTrack folder. It stores configuration values like database credentials and your role setting. You only need to edit it once during setup.Aircraft & Flight Logging
Use the Add Aircraft form from the main menu. Enter the registration, type, airline, and any other details you have. Flight history is tracked automatically each time the aircraft is seen again.
An aircraft record is unique — one record per registration. A flight is each individual sighting of that aircraft. So one aircraft can have dozens of flights logged against it over time.
Yes. Open the aircraft record and use the Edit option to update any field, including the sighting date, location, route, or notes.
Absolutely. If the registration isn't in your database, just type it in manually. AirTrack doesn't restrict what you can log.
Spotting Tools
Yes. When you're online, AirTrack can generate a direct link to the aircraft on Flightradar24 so you can cross-reference live data with your records.
It's the physical location where you spotted the aircraft — typically an airport ICAO code or a description of the location (e.g. fence line, viewing area).
Data & Syncing
Each AirTrack installation has its own database. To move data between machines, export the database on one and import it on the other. A USB key works well for this if you're working offline in the field.
Export your database from your field machine, bring it home on a USB key or transfer it across your network, and import it into your main installation.
Yes — AirTrack Mobile is an Android app for viewing your AirTrack data on the go. It is a companion viewer and does not replace the desktop installation.
Reports & Insights
AirTrack includes reports for most-seen aircraft, airline breakdowns, rare type sightings, busiest spotting periods, aircraft by country, and personal milestones.
Yes. Reports can be printed directly from the browser or exported. PDF export is available in the Professional edition.
Troubleshooting
Check your
.env file to confirm the database credentials are correct, make sure the database container is running, and restart AirTrack. If the issue persists, contact support.Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) or clear your browser cache. This usually resolves display issues after an update.

BoxTrack — A Different App
BoxTrack is a separate Android app by the same developer — it has nothing to do with aircraft. Got boxes of stuff packed away that you can never find when you need it? BoxTrack lets you create a box, print a QR code to attach to it, and log everything inside. Boxes and items are fully searchable, editable, and deletable. Saves hours and sanity.
No — BoxTrack is a completely independent app. The only connection is that both were written by the same developer. BoxTrack does not require AirTrack and works entirely on its own.
